Ecological assessment and lizard salvage for the Lyttleton Port Company to restart Gollan’s Bay Quarry for the port expansion works. Challenging terrain, strict H&S requirements, and in an environment made inherently unstable due to the Christchurch earthquakes. Breathtaking views!
P2P rail upgrade (Auckland)
Project ecologists for the Papakura to Pukekohe rail electrification project by Kiwirail. Ecological surveys along 18 km of rail corridor, effects assessments, stream surveys, consenting, management plans and operational implementation.
Mt Cass Wind Farm (Canterbury)
Project ecologists managing construction monitoring & regulator liaison – extensive rare plant mapping, management plans & salvage, lizard salvage, lizard release site monitoring, long-term ecosystem monitoring and compliance reporting. Stunning scenery.
Huia Water Treatment Plant Upgrade (Auckland)

Project ecologists for the 200-hectare, 3,500 lot housing development at Milldale, north Auckland. Extensive ecological survey, effects assessments, offset site development on regional Parklands, salvage for lizards and fish, on-site supervision, monitoring and compliance reporting.
Hunua Quarry: Symonds Hill Pit (South Auckland)
Ecological advisors to Winstone Aggregates since 2010 on all aspects of project development, including values assessments, consenting, green gecko salvages, forest, revegetation and stream health monitoring, and consent ecological compliance for this multi-year quarry development.
Waimea Community Dam (Tasman)
Ecology advisors to Waimea Water Ltd, Tasman District Council and the construction Joint-Venture since 2010 on this 55 m high concrete-faced water storage dam. Management of all ecological services – values and effects assessment, Hearing, consent conditions, management plans (9), restoration and offset planning, rare plant salvage and relocation, culvert and fish passage assessments, fish salvage, monitoring and reporting progress at restoration sites.
